Abstract
A useful request for quotation links the material to the buyer's process, required evidence and purchase stage. This checklist helps HA, β-TCP and 45S5 buyers obtain comparable replies before paying for samples or commissioning tests. Separate essential requirements from preferences, and ask the supplier to identify every exception.
1. Define the material and buying stage
State the material, form and intended development use. For HA, distinguish the required powder or microsphere form; for β-TCP, identify the beta phase; for 45S5, state whether powder or microspheres are needed and request the composition and phase-characterization basis. A family name is not a grade identifier.
Describe the next operation: dispersion, compounding, coating or thermal processing. Include the process conditions that constrain the material. Give the sample quantity, anticipated pilot quantity, delivery country and requested timing separately. An estimate is not a purchase commitment.
2. Make requirements comparable
List each required characteristic with its unit, reporting basis, method and acceptance limit, where already established. Mark unresolved limits for discussion. Avoid a bare request for 'high purity' or 'small particles': these cannot be compared consistently across quotations.
For PSD, request D10, D50 and D90 with the distribution basis and preparation conditions. Laser diffraction has a defined measurement scope, but ISO 13320 does not supply material-specific requirements [1]. Do not equate a nominal size label with an agreed PSD specification.
3. Ask for the right evidence
Request the current grade specification and SDS, then ask which results are routine release tests and which require a separate report or new test. For a proposed sample, request its lot-linked COA or ask when the lot will be assigned. Label historical or illustrative reports as reference evidence.
Use method references within their scope. ISO 13779-3 addresses HA-based material characterization [2]; ASTM F1088-23 addresses β-TCP raw-material requirements [3]. Ask whether a relevant method can be supplied and whether exceptions apply. Neither reference establishes the compliance of a particular supplier, lot or finished device.
4. Request an itemized reply
Ask the supplier to confirm the exact grade and exceptions, available sample amount, packaging, minimum order quantity, lead time and quotation validity. Request currency, shipping basis and destination, with material, testing and freight charges separated. These are questions, not statements of Kannrybio's commercial terms.
Send the completed requirement list through kannrybio.com/contact/ or to info@kannrybio.com. Request a written comparison against each essential requirement before deciding which sample to evaluate.
Table 1. Information that turns an enquiry into a comparable offer.
| Material | Buyer should identify | Ask the supplier to confirm |
|---|---|---|
| HA | Form, use, PSD and phase needs | Grade, method and applicable limits |
| β-TCP | Beta-phase requirement and process | Phase evidence and test scope |
| 45S5 | Powder or microspheres and process | Composition basis and morphology |
| All three | Sample and pilot quantities; destination | Exceptions, documents and itemized quote |
