A practical document route for preliminary OEM review without confusing sample records with batch-release documentation.
Start with product identity
A document package is useful only when the product name, grade, material form, manufacturing site and revision can be linked to the sample under review. If the application calls for a different particle size or composition, ask whether a separate grade and specification apply.
Separate three types of records
A specification states agreed requirements; a batch COA reports results against the applicable release criteria; an SDS communicates hazard and handling information. A marketing summary or a reference graph should not be read as the COA for a supplied lot.
Check the measurement context
For phase identity, inspect the XRD method and reference used. For particle size, ask about dispersion medium and method and whether D10, D50 and D90 are volume- or number-based. For BET and elemental limits, check the method, units and reporting limits. Compare like with like before judging a difference.
A focused request
Send the exact material and form, intended development use, target quantity, delivery region and which documents are needed. For batch acceptance, request the current specification and the COA tied to the actual lot.
